In 1985, Safir Engineering, Limited became responsible for the GT40 trademark, as the Mk V version of the GT40 was being produced in very limited quantities. Upon the retirement of Peter Thorp, Safir Engineering's founder, the GT40 trademark registration was transferred to Safir GT40 Spares, Limited established by Brady Pack, John Sadler, and Bob Wood to provide spare parts and technical help to the owners of the Mk V version in particular, and all GT40 owners in general. Following the completion of the 40th Mk V, serial number GT40-P-1145 and the last of the original run of GT40s, all or the remaining parts, body molds, casting patterns, and manufacturing drawings were shipped from England to Milford, Ohio USA to support the 20+ Mk Vs which were in the US.

Since that beginning, Safir GT40 Spares, Limited has been dedicated to the preservation of the iconic American racing car by supplying parts and technical knowledge to the GT40 community. We are now pleased to offer genuine GT40 products that enhance the GT40 experience for all of those for whom the GT40 remains a treasured memory.
